Filming and photography

Would you like to publish an article with pictures of the Arolsen Archives? You are welcome to take photos on site in the archive itself. We are also happy to organize interviews with suitable interview partners. Please call us or contact us by e-mail in advance so we can make arrangements. Do you need photos or film footage? We are happy to provide you with both.

Visit us

You are welcome to search the online archive or visit us in Bad Arolsen to do your research on site. If you visit us in person, you will be able to access all the documents that have already been digitized – plus original documents that have not yet been added to the database. Please contact us in advance of your visit so we can provide you with the best possible service.

Research service for journalists

Do you need information about the fate of individual victims of Nazi persecution for your text, TV or radio report? The Arolsen Archives are happy to work with the press by researching specific topics or people in the archive for your reports. If you would like us to research specific people for you, please send us their name, date and place of birth, and any other information you may have about them. This will help us find relevant documents. For a small fee, you can also receive the search results as a high-res scan for publication.

Annual Report 2024

In 2024, the Arolsen Archives focused on education and awareness. “arolsen school” was used in many classrooms, while tens of thousands joined the #everynamecounts initiative. High numbers of tracing requests and record visits to the online archive reflect ongoing interest in Nazi persecution.
