A documentary filmmaker followed students from Konarski Secondary School in Oświęcim (Auschwitz) as they conducted their research.
Young people at the International Youth Meeting Center (IYMC) in Oświęcim have been deeply involved in the #StolenMemory project since 2019. Documentary filmmaker Piotr Struczyk accompanied them during their research.
Stefan Baster’s wedding ring
The students managed to trace Stanisława Bury, the niece of former concentration camp inmate Stefan Baster, and returned his wedding ring to her.
Zygmunt Jakubczyk was held in the Neuengamme concentration camp. The students found documents and personal mementos, including a collection of watches, which they handed over to his great-nephew Sebastian Jakubczyk.
75 years after Anna Mazur’s great-uncle Tadeusz Sieprawski was deported by the Nazis, she finally received his personal belongings, which were presented to her by the young people from Oświęcim.
A medallion that was taken from Leokadia Rożniewska when she was a prisoner in Ravensbrück concentration camp was returned to her family along with documents related to her detention in the camp.
